    IT Technical Trainer / Instructor – Java or Application Support

    FDM is seeking a number of skilled IT Training Consultants with proven commercial experience to join us in our brand new training Academy in Toronto. We have current openings for roles teaching courses including Java Development and Application Support.

    Globally, we have the ability train up to hundreds of graduates at any one time, and due to the rapid expansion of our Canada operation we need to add to our training team. The overall objective of the role is to prepare FDM trainees for placement with our clients as professional IT Consultants.

    The successful candidate will join our Academy team where they will be trained to deliver our core course modules. He or she will be actively involved in developing the skills and knowledge of our trainees as well as creating new courses and updating existing materials.

    Essential criteria:

    • A degree (preferably IT related)
    • Eligible to work in Canada
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
    • Ability to deliver within an agreed timeframe
    • Ability to translate business requirements into a dynamic training course
    • Able to work with clients and other trainers to extract relevant information for inclusion in a training course
    • Able to work collaboratively with other project team members to deliver results
    • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure
    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
    • Able to use initiative

    Desirable criteria:

    (For Java)

    • Previous Java programming experience
    • Excellent technical expertise
    • Previous experience of working with databases and the Unix operating system
    • A good understanding of Object Oriented concepts

    (For Application Support)

    • IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) background
    • Experience working with Windows and Unix operating systems
    • Strong Excel skills
    • Excellent problem solving skills

    Sales Account Manager Opportunities – Entry Level with Training

We are currently seeking a number of high-caliber individuals to join our Sales Team as Account Managers to deliver an exceptional experience for FDM clients and build new accounts throughout Canada.

    This opportunity in sales includes all elements of the experience from opening new accounts, assisting account managers with administrative requirements, informing the client of our service delivery components, resolving issues, executing our contact strategy, and status reporting.

    The Account Manager will promote FDM services in a professional manner, maintaining and growing business relationships, thus contributing to the growth of major accounts. Responding to client questions and/or concerns in a timely manner is essential, always striving to resolve issues proactively on the same day. This role involves collaboration with assigned teams on site and with clients, while monitoring performance and deliverables.

    This is an entry-level career opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills in business relationship management. As such, successful candidates will go through an initial training period which helps to lay an essential foundation of understanding on FDM’s business model, equipping our Account Managers a well-rounded perspective on the business when they progress to their client-facing role.

    Essential Criteria:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in related areas
    • Outstanding communication skills, significant client interaction experience (heavy phone, email, and letter), and strong negotiation skills
    • Highly organized and efficient, as well as able to manage multiple tasks, calendars, and processes simultaneously
    • Motivated by a target-driven environment
    • Client-focused and target driven
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Technical proficiency, including the ability to quickly master operational systems such as Salesforce and proficiency with MS Office Suite
    • Eligible to work in Canada

    Desirable Criteria (not essential):

    • Additional languages
    • Additional sales experience working within the IT industry
