“An IT company is aiming to become one of the largest graduate recruiters in Britain after completing a
management buyout.
Brighton-based FDM Group has delisted from the AIM (Alternative Investment Market) in a £28.4 million deal backed by private equity firm Inflexion. The management team, lead by Rod Flavell, said the acquisition would enable the company to expand its award-winning academy programme.
Mr Flavell, who was named Business Person of the Year at last year’s Sussex Business Awards, said: “Taking the business private is a challenge that we have been looking forward to for some time now. Last year represented both the end and the beginning of a satisfying journey, where despite the economic climate, FDM prevailed as an innovative leader in its field.”
Despite the recession FDM’s earnings were 5.4million in 2009, up from 4.3 million in 2007.
FDM also takes on hundreds of IT graduates each year, known as “Mounties”. Anyone interested in becoming a Mountie should visit www.fdmacademy.com”
