It has been two years since the Getting Back to Business Programme successfully launched at FDM, pioneered in Hong Kong and later executed in Singapore and across the UK. Here we take a look back on the success of the programme in Asia Pacific to date.

The programme, which launched in Hong Kong in 2015, was in partnership with one of our global financial clients. Nine professionals underwent eight weeks of industry recognised training and have since transitioned to permanent positions or are currently in the process of doing so. Since the first iteration of the course there has been a further two classes in Hong Kong and one in Singapore, with another one about to begin.

The Getting Back to Business Programme provides high-calibre individuals who have taken an extended break in their career, with specialist training before placing them on-site in a full time role as an FDM Consultant with one or more of our high profile clients. Individuals are provided with professional and technical support throughout the training and ongoing support whilst on client site to ensure that they can make a difference from day one. More than 20 individuals, both male and female, have gone through the programme in Asia Pacific and have taken on roles in business analysis, project management and production support.

Nicole Kep, who went through the programme in Hong Kong in 2016, says:

“FDM’s Getting Back to Business Programme was great in that it provided a broad overview of the essentials I needed to transition to a project management role in IT and banking. It sounded exciting at the time and indeed, the intense eight-week programme was equally challenging. At the end of it all, with the help of our trainers, we felt empowered and equipped to face any prospective clients.”

Steve Imbriaco, who recently completed the training in our Hong Kong Academy, recognises that;

“It’s important to realise that there are other people in the same situation and you need to be open to new challenges.”

The programme uses a tailored blend of specialist training and ongoing support, building upon leadership and management experience as well as IT and business knowledge. Nicole adds:

“For us, this isn’t just a job but an opportunity for life development and transformation. I am excited by the prospects that lie ahead as I continue on my journey of continuous self-improvement and being my best self, whatever that may be or wherever it may lead me.”
