8 Reasons to Join our Graduate Programme

Our Graduate Programme will help you kick-start a rewarding career in IT and business. Here’s eight reasons why:

1. Award winning training programme

We offer training in a range of specialties in both business and technical fields.  Located in one of our state-of-the-art Academies around the world, FDM’s training is tailored to your stream. This means you learn precisely what you need to be successful on our client sites. Depending on which stream of training you chose, the training can be from eight to 14 weeks and will provide you with the skills and expertise to succeed.

2. Industry-recognised qualifications

As part of our training, you will receive industry recognised qualifications depending on your training stream. For example if you join the Project Support Officer stream, you will have the opportunity to gain a PRINCE2 qualification. We also fund Software Developers through their ITSQB certification. These qualifications are yours to keep once you complete your contract with FDM.

3. Access to over 160 blue chip clients

We have clients in a wide variety of industries around the globe, from finance to entertainment to non-profit charities.  FDM’s training gives you the skills to get your foot in the door with top companies it’s often near impossible to even get an interview with.

4. Opportunities to work for clients across the world

As a global organisation we have Consultants placed globally. If you train in New York, you could work in China; if you train in Hong Kong, you could work in Australia. Everyone has the opportunity to find a placement in an amazing new country. Alexandra trained in our London Academy but took a placement with HSBC in Hong Kong to fulfil her desire to travel.

5. Endless opportunities when your contract expires

Unlike a lot of graduate programmes, when your two-year bond with FDM is up, you will have the training, connections and experience to continue your career in a variety of ways. Many of our Consultants transfer into permanent positions with the client, but you can also stay on as a Senior Consultant and take on a more senior role with a FDM client.

6. Ongoing support when you go out on-site

Once you are placed with a client as an FDM Consultant, you will continue to receive support and guidance from FDM.  We have a network of Consultant Peer Supporters in locations around the world who can help with everything from what to expect on your first day to where is best to look for a house. You will also be assigned a Relationship Manager to provide you with one-to-one guidance from a senior person within the business. You will also be given the opportunity to join the FDM mentoring programme to assist you with reaching your goals. We provide you the support system, and you have every opportunity to use it.

7. Start dates throughout the year

Unlike many graduate schemes, FDM recruits and trains on a rolling basis throughout the year.  Our training lasts between eight to 14 weeks depending on the stream you pick so you could start you exciting careers as soon as you are ready.

8. FDM values diversity and championing women in IT

Diversity is an integral part of our DNA. We are looking for people with a passion for IT, not those with certain backgrounds or degrees.  This commitment has led to FDM receiving many honours including the Diversity Recruitment Award from the TARGETJobs National Graduate Recruitment Awards.
