Introducing April 2018 Consultant of the Month Winners

Each month, talented FDM consultants on-site are recognised by their line managers for going above and beyond their role.  Congratulations to the April Consultants of the month! Could you be next?

Monica Dhillon

Associate IT Service Manager, Department of Work and Pensions (UK)

“Before joining FDM, I studied at the University of Manchester where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Social Studies. I have now been working for DWP since October 2016 as an Associate IT Service Manager within PC Devices and Live Service team. The team that I work with are hardworking and supportive; making sure everyone helps each other out. I appreciate the opportunities I have been given throughout my time with DWP and I am flattered to have my work recognised. I would certainly recommend FDM to others as it gives graduates access to opportunities and experiences which are hard to come by otherwise.”

Jacob RubinJacob Rubin - FDM

AML Quantitative Analyst, Bank of Montreal (US)

“FDM appealed to me as I always wanted to work in business analytics and although I had the necessary skills to succeed in the field from both my Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Economics as well as a Masters in Management, I did not have the right work experience. FDM helped me start my career in IT and data analytics - they equipped me with the right skills employers were looking for and bridged the gap between university and getting a full time role. I am now working as an Anti-Money Laundering Quantitative Analyst at BMO. I was given great responsibilities early on that have allowed me to apply my knowledge in advanced analytics and machine learning. My manager constantly challenges me to be the best data scientist I can be.”

Esmond Chan - FDMEsmond Chan

IT Support Consultant, Disclosure and Barring Service, DBS (SG)

“I travelled to the Hong Kong Academy to join the training programme on the Project Support/Management Stream after graduating from the National University of Singapore’s Faculty of Science with a degree in Quantitative Finance.  During the programme, I learnt many new skills such as SQL, ITIL and PRINCE2, which have all contributed in one way or another to my on-site success and experience. I have progressed quickly in my role at DBS - the team is extremely accommodating and willing to share their knowledge. I truly appreciate the opportunities that FDM has been able to provide me. My placement has certainly provided me with a greater exposure, understanding and appreciation for the work I do and people around me.”

Scott Nelson - FDMScott Nelson

Technical Analyst, Royal Bank of Scotland (UK)

“I joined FDM through the Ex-Forces route, previously working as an aircraft engineer for the Royal Air Force; however I had always wanted to start a career in the technology sector. After leaving the RAF, I started searching for companies that would enable me to start a new career in IT - that is how I came across FDM. FDM has allowed me to bridge that gap and opened up a whole range of possibilities. I am now working as a Technical Analyst for the Royal Bank of Scotland. I have really enjoyed getting to grips with the role. Although it has been challenging at times, the support that I have received from not only the management team, but also my peers have encouraged me to comfortably push myself further. I want to say a big thank you to the team in Glasgow for giving me the opportunity to be where I am today.”

Mahima Srivasatava - FDMMahima Srivastava

Application Support Analyst, Royal Bank of Canada (CA)

“I studied Information System Security at the University of Concordia, in Montreal Quebec and have been with FDM for over a year and a half now. After the training programme, I was successfully placed with RBC where I work as an Application Support Analyst in the Market Data Operations and Engineering Team. I am a Subject Matter Expert for Symphony Messaging System, used as a messaging platform across RBC global markets.  The training I received from FDM has undoubtedly helped me in my role. I am really happy that my work has been recognised and I would recommend FDM to any graduate looking to take their first step onto the professional ladder.”

Sam Rewhorn - FDMSam Rewhorn

IT Risk Governance Analyst, Allied Irish Banks, University of Chester (IE)

“I graduated from the University of Chester with a first class Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Marketing. I joined FDM in March 2016 after searching for a role within the IT sector that would allow me to work in Ireland. After joining, I successfully completed the Project Management Officer stream in the Leeds Academy and was then subsequently placed with AID three months later. Currently, I work in IT Service Assurance where I have been able to expand my skill set as well as interact with different levels of seniority. FDM is a very sociable company that I will continue to recommend to my friends because it provides great opportunities for people to gain real life experience backed up by industry-recognised qualifications. I’m very proud to have achieved this recognition.”

Congratulations to all our April Consultant of the Month winners! We really appreciate your hard work and contributions to FDM.

Here is what our clients have to say about this month’s winners:

“Mahima is involved in the enhancement and maintenance of the Symphony Platform, among her other Market Data Engineering responsibilities. Her Symphony involvement requires her to work with the Vendor and host workshops to time sensitive clients, such as traders and developers. Mahima’s work overall has been invaluable for the MDOE group, not only does she exceed expectations in her daily role she goes above and beyond as well. Mahima is a great asset to the team and RBC, she clearly demonstrated that she not only knows about the RBC core values but exhibits them as well.”

Project Manager, Royal Bank of Canada

“Monica has quickly become an effective member of our team - her inquisitive nature and strive to learn and get the job done has proved invaluable to the team. She has been actively involved in a number of initiatives which has meant a great deal of liaison with various business areas across DWP, providing advice and support to achieve a successful outcome. Monica has risen to many challenges. This is a demanding, high profile area of work. She has had to deal with complex issues and take ownership of them whilst showing initiative and contacting the relevant experts to seek advice and guidance. Nothing is ever too much trouble.”
