I graduated from Carleton University with my Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, which contributed greatly to the development of my technical and professional skills. After graduation, I joined FDM’s Careers Programme because of its unique concept of providing a solid platform to showcase my skills and personality. Also, the flexibility of choosing my own career path was something that really stood out to me.
Throughout my training in the Academy I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to learn new technologies and receive certifications at the same time. FDM helped me to diversify my skills by not limiting my career profile to just one software platform. Most importantly, FDM enhanced my personal development by providing three months of valuable coaching and mentoring.
At TD, one of my biggest tasks is designing automated process solutions in accordance with standard design principles while analysing and understanding the business processes. Also, part of my ongoing role is supporting existing processes and implementing change requirements as part of a structured change control process. Sometimes I am even creating and documenting test procedures and scenarios for the pre-UAT phases.
Through my work, I have been exposed to Blue Prism’s full-end processes which are being used in the back office to convert repetitive tasks used by the bank to automate delivery. I have also had the opportunity to learn about different departments in the banking sector through Blue Prism. Although training in Blue Prism can be difficult as there is very little dedicated training material available online, it is a valuable skill to have and I’m excited about what the future holds in store.
