Our Career Programmes

What our consultants say

Isobel Murray

Current role: Technical Project Lead
FDM Stream: Data Engineering
University: NUI Galway
Degree: Physics and Applied Physics

What really influenced my decision to join FDM was the chance to launch a career in one of the most in-demand tech fields without having a Computer Science or IT degree.

I’m currently working as a Technical Project Lead within a financial institution. My role is varied, but the overall goal of my team is to deliver customised solutions to clients using cutting edge technologies. I was also involved in the process of my department’s migration from one platform to another, which I found particularly interesting

Colin McAndrew

FDM Stream: Risk, Regulation & Compliance
University: Maynooth University
Degree: Entrepreneurship

My time at FDM has given me immense personal satisfaction. From the very beginning, I thoroughly enjoyed my time in training, learning from some of the best trainers.

I am currently placed in a global investment bank, working in FX Trade Support. My day-to-day job is helping parts of the business involved in trading currencies to ensure that they follow client and risk requirements and function in the best interests of the firm and clients. I find learning about the Foreign Exchange Markets and products fascinating, particularly how world and inter-market events and product trends affect the currency markets.

Lorcan Cahill

FDM Stream: Robotics and Process Automation
University: Technological University of Dublin
Degree: Computer and Communications Engineering

After graduation, I found that I was still missing the necessary experience to enter a career in tech. FDM offered me the chance to re-train and also gave me the wonderful opportunity of working internationally in Luxembourg.

I am currently placed as a Junior Master Data Engineer, managing and developing asset databases for one of our major financial clients to deliver specific functionality. My role involves performing business analysis and applying software development skills, learned throughout my time at university and during the FDM Training.

What do we look for in a candidate?

Technology makes the world a better place, and we believe passion, drive and curiosity are what you need to have a successful career in IT or business. That’s why we only ask for the following:

  • Excellent communication
  • Analytical and decision-making skills
  • Commitment to a 2-year contract with FDM upon training completion
  • Right to work in Ireland and the UK

Please note that if you are an Irish citizen, you automatically have the right to work in both Ireland and the UK, as well as Europe. You will have the opportunity to work with our clients across Poland, France, Germany, Spain and many other locations along with Scotland, England and Wales.
