On 13th April, Academy Manager, Lynn McPhee, and Academy Trainer, Mark Lancaster, from our Glasgow Academy headed to the s1Jobs Awards at the Crowne Plaza as a shortlisted company but left as double winners.
This year we defended our title as the Best Employer Brand but also picked up the award for Best Employer Training and Development. To win Best Employer Brand we had to beat the tough competition from finalists Diageo, Pursuit Marketing and Skyscanner as well as Chivas Brothers International Graduate Programme and Farne Salmon & Trout to be crowned Best Employer Training & Development.
Lynn noted, “Collaboration is key to the success of the Academy in Glasgow. Everyone in the office has contributed to this achievement. It is great to see the effort acknowledged by such a prestigious company as s1Jobs.
“I am absolutely delighted with the Training and Development Award as this demonstrates the skill, passion and motivation of the dedicated Training Team who continue to deliver such talented Consultants.”
Mark added, “As a trainer, I obviously feel very proud that we won the Training and Development Award, as I think this reflects on the excellence of the training team as a whole, who have all put a huge amount of effort into making the Glasgow Academy what it is.
“In addition, winning the Best Employer Brand award, which was voted for by S1 users, demonstrates that FDM is a real force to be reckoned with in Scotland.”
Since opening, the Glasgow Academy has kick-started the careers of 312 people from both the graduate and Ex-Forces programme. Strathclyde University was the biggest recruitment university for FDM in the UK last year, highlighting the strength and quality of Scottish candidates and embedding FDM in the Scottish economy. We are excited to also be extending our Getting Back to Business Programme into Scotland later this year to help those who have taken a career break return to the IT industry.
These wins are testament to the hard work and dedication of the staff, Consultants and Trainees from the Glasgow Academy as well as the FDM community as a whole. Congratulations to everyone involved.
