FDM’s Sustainable
Tech Challenge
with E.ON Next

30th June 2022

Thank you for your interest. Applications for the FDM Sustainable Tech Challenge are now closed.

Are you passionate about tech? Do you want to pursue a rewarding and exciting career while also giving back to the environment?

FDM has teamed up with E.ON Next to give you an insight and first-hand experience into what a career in the renewable sector looks like.

This June, we are hosting our first ever FDM Sustainable Tech Challenge in collaboration with renewable energy provider E.ON Next. You’ll be working with a team of fellow students to solve a real technical problem in the renewable energy industry.

About the challenge

You will be given the task to help E.ON Next continue their mission towards sustainability by proposing a new gamification strategy that encourages off-peak energy consumption and helps reduce costs for consumers.

Working in teams, you will research current consumer trends in the energy sector and propose a gamification tool (key functions, layout, and use) to a panel of industry experts.

Use your creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills and you may see your solution having a real tangible impact for E.ON Next and its users.

What to expect on the day

The FDM Sustainable Tech Challenge will take place at our Headquarters in London on 30th June. You will get Agile and Scrum training which will be valuable to you not only for the challenge but for any future projects you may undertake.

The training will have a practical approach and you will be able to apply your newly learned skills straight away in the project and in real work environments.

In addition, there will be two networking sessions where you will get to meet fellow students and industry experts from the renewable energy sector.

Members of the FDM Recruitment team will also be there, ready to help you and answer any questions you may have about our Graduate Programme.

How do I sign up?

We have limited spaces available, so to apply, you need to submit your CV and a 250-word Expression of Interest essay by Friday, 3rd June. Simply tell us why you would like to take part in the Sustainable Tech Challenge and what excites you about technology.

Following your application, FDM will get back to you and let you know if your application has been successful. We will keep you posted and send you information about what you need to prepare.
