Athena Chung - FDMAthena Chung (AU)

Consultant, KMPG, Monash University

“I graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and Mathematics. Before joining FDM, I worked in a microbiology lab, having no background in IT previously. I was apprehensive when I wanted a career change however, FDM gave me all the training I needed to successfully kick-start my new career. Currently, I am working as a Consultant at KMPG where my experience so far has been challenging but refreshing. I have enjoyed being able to dive straight into exciting projects and working with senior management. It’s fulfilling to be making valuable contributions to my team and I hope I can continue to do so!”

“Athena has enhanced our reputation as a firm; she will do all that is possible to achieve the best outcome for our client. She has lead workshops, managed stakeholder expectations and overseen the work of her teammates, performing well above the level of a consultant. Athena has shown me that FDM is able to provide intelligent, committed and adaptable people for our teams.”

Razi Khan - FDM

Razi Khan (CA)

Business System Analyst, Royal Bank of Canada, University of Ottawa

“I joined FDM after completing my Master’s degree from the University of Ottawa in Engineering Management. FDM provided me with the opportunity as a recent graduate to work with one of the biggest financial institutions in all of North America. I am currently working on-site at RBC as a Business System Analyst where the working environment is exceptional for learning and growth. I feel very lucky to have such supportive line managers and most importantly, I enjoy my work.”

“Razi shows exceptional professionalism in supporting extremely complex financial applications. He currently supports these global applications independently with multiple time zones, operating in places such as Toronto, New York, London and Australia. He also often receives critical business and IT issues at the same time with high priority. This is where his maturity shows when dealing with these tasks, managing the user expectations well and handling the situation with confidence. He certainly deserves recognition.”

Andrew WIlday - FDMAndrew Wilday (UK)

Planning and Performance Analyst, DWP, Staffordshire University

“I’ve been a consultant at DWP for two and a half years, and have migrated through different departments since joining. One of my most recent projects, within Digital Delivery Business Partnering, was designing and implementing a whole suite of reporting products for our Senior Leadership Team to use to aid their decision making. I built them to be user friendly and automated, using my experience from previous projects as well as the training that FDM provided. Since the completion of this project, I have been working alongside five new FDMers. We have been able to thrive in an environment where innovation, creativity and autonomy is encouraged, which I find really motivating. When I found out I had won Consultant of the Month, I was thrilled. It was great that all the senior management were also made aware of my achievement; I always strive to do my best, so to be recognised by them was amazing.”

“Andrew has proved himself invaluable in utilising the previous knowledge, experience and skills he gained whilst working in the Infrastructure and Operations Services and Business Management Team, as well as his extensive IT skills. He quickly established himself as trusted individual who has a capable pair of hands. In just three weeks, Andrew transformed the Risk and Compliance function in the team from a tedious, long winded process to a much more streamlined approach enabling improved reporting to Director and Senior Leadership Team.”

  • Sarah Benson, Business Management Team, DWP

Patrick Blain (UK)Patrick Blain - FDM

Business Analyst, Public Sector, York St John University

“I studied International Business Management at York St John University and joined FDM on the PMO stream. Most recently, I have been working on a digital project designing new computer systems to enable a large scale, multi-faceted legislative change. My role has been to understand the business requirements, analyse and interpret them and feed into the development team, in addition to defining the wider process with our stakeholders. I like that in my role I am able to make a big impact in a fast-paced environment and solve complex problems.”

“Patrick has shown dedication, skill and an appetite to take on responsibility. His willingness to go above and beyond is a factor contributing to the project’s success. He has facilitated workshops and chaired meetings with key standards, translated difficult business requirements into manageable chunks of work for the software engineers and has been involved in all aspects of the project as required to ensure its success. His attitude and outlook have helped drive the team forward and he has played a huge and invaluable part in helping the team deliver an innovative, ground breaking, user friendly and cost effective product.”
