I started my first week at FDM with no idea what to expect. Having come from a job as a Dive Instructor on an island in the middle of the South China Sea to an office in Glasgow was quite the shock to the system. The welcome I received to the sales team is testament to the friendly culture of FDM. Emma has taken me under her wing, showing me the ropes from Salesforce to introducing me to the entire office.
I am excited to see that every day in this role is different. I am utilising skills I gained at university, but I am also constantly learning new things about my role every day. I had very little experience of Saleforce before taking up this role but even in my first week have come to rely on it more than ever before. On the face of it, this role appears to be driven by data analysis, but I now know that interacting with Trainees is just as important. Everyone in sales knows all of the Trainees by name and face, and that relationship is vital to my success.
Overall my start as a Sales Analyst has been enjoyable. The team couldn’t have been more welcoming and the training which Emma is giving is fantastic! When they say “every day’s a school day” they’re definitely they must have been talking about sales. This department is fast paced and always changing which is what attracted me to the role in the first place. I am excited what this role has to bring. The sky is the limit at FDM!
