Rachel Chen joined the Getting Back to Business programme to help her return to full-time work and having successfully completed seven weeks of training she is now placed with Lloyds Banking. Rachel describes her FDM journey so far.
I started my career as an IT and management consultant with Accenture and was mainly working on SAP implementation projects across Asia for six years. Following this, I went to study in France and lived there for four years, working in strategy consulting, marketing and as an IT project manager for a luxury product company.
At the end of 2015, I decided to move to UK and take a career break from full-time work. Since then I’ve been preparing my visa and freelancing for consulting projects. Having become settled in the UK and set up a network and life I recently made the decision to return to full-time work.
Having an unusual and unorthodox CV I found it difficult to find work alone. FDM’s Getting Back to Business programme understands and appreciates the value of varied career histories and with their continued support and relationships with blue-chip clients; a door was opened for me to resume my career.
Rachel is now placed at Lloyds Banking Group. Rachel highlights that although it can be difficult returning to the workplace it is worth it and it feels great to be back. FDM’s Getting Back to Business programme gives you the training, confidence and opportunity to return to the workplace, apply now!
