Meet the Hong Kong Recruitment Team

Every Tuesday we introduce the faces behind FDM who work in our recruitment teams all around the world. Today we find ourselves in Hong Kong where the recruitment team consists of three superstars who work tirelessly to bring the brightest and most impressive trainees into our academies.

Andy Chan - FDMAndy Chan – Graduate Recruiter

My favourite FDM memory so far has been delivering our biggest recruitment talk to date, with more than 30 students in attendance. I personally love to hear about candidates’ passion for IT. Sometimes candidates are unsure where their skillset is best suited, and that is one aspect in which we advise them, as we assess the potential of the candidates in all positions.

My top tip for graduates: Exert your passion! Many interviewers want to see if and how others can bounce off of your passion and excitement.

Lucy Shen - FDMLucy Shen Recruitment Specialist (Hong Kong & China)

We have a relatively small office here in Hong Kong. We have many team activities together, and it’s a great way to discover the talents of the team. A favourite of ours is karaoke. We appreciate graduates’ interest in us, and aim to support them at every opportunity, whether that is to help them prepare for a telephone interview or give advice on test revisions.

My top tip for graduates: Always dress professional, first impressions are one of the most important things.

Cherry Yim - FDMCherry Yim – Graduate Recruiter

FDM is a place to explore individual potentials and to help candidates recognise different career paths, which is exciting to be a part of. I advise all graduates and job seekers to do their homework about the company and position they’re going for. The candidates that stand out to me are ones who are driven and willing to challenge themselves by getting out of their comfort zone.

My top tip for graduates: Remember to give examples when answering your questions during your interview, and make sure your personality comes across when you speak to interviewers.
