Meet the Singapore Account Managers

Every Tuesday we travel around the globe introducing our fantastic FDM Account Managers. Our Account Managers are a huge part of the FDM business model and they work alongside clients in order to secure placements for our trainees. This week we visit Singapore to meet the team and to find out what they enjoy about their role.

Sophia Lin – Singapore Country Manager

Where are you from? York, UK

How long have you been with FDM? I joined FDM six years ago in the London office as part of the Graduate Recruitment team.

There have been so many good memories with FDM in Singapore. 2017 was a milestone year for me, as we moved into our new FDM Singapore centre and surpassed 100 consultants on client site! The Singapore centre launch party was definitely a highlight—it was a memorable evening of celebration with the Singapore team, our consultants, alumni and clients.

What advice do you have for trainees? Keep an open mind and try to network with as many people as you can. You’re likely to discover exciting opportunities that may have never crossed your mind before.

What do you enjoy most about your role? It is extremely rewarding to see just how much our pioneer Singapore consultants have grown and achieved in their careers, along with those who now follow in their footsteps.

Thabye Soe – Account Manager

Where are you from? Originally from Yangon, Myanmar; I’ve been living in Singapore for most of my life.

How long have you been with FDM? I joined the company back in November 2017.

I get a great deal of satisfaction from witnessing our consultants’ growth and development into the professionals they aspire to be. You see a big change from their early days at the assessment centre to their first day as trainees within the academy. Their growth becomes even more evident as they obtain roles and join in on the internal teams of the organization they are on-site with—it’s a huge reward for us account managers.

What advice do you have for trainees? Learn and absorb as much new knowledge as possible. Be seen and be heard! There is no glory to suffering in silence, ask for help if you need it.

What are your hobbies outside of work? I do yoga regularly, it’s a time for me to fully relax and focus on myself.  I also make time to travel whenever I can. So far, I’ve been to 33 countries and hope to keep discovering new places in the future.

Eoin Doyle – Account Manager

Where are you from? People’s Republic of Cork, Ireland

How long have you been with FDM? One year.

I find it extremely rewarding when we are able to match our client’s needs to the career aspirations of our consultants. There have been many memorable moments over the past year with FDM, primarily our client and consultant party this year in Hong Kong. It was great night with our consultants, clients and colleagues. My best career advice is to be proactive and don’t sit around waiting for an opportunity to present itself, seek out the opportunities.

What do you do outside of work? Sport is a major part of my life and playing the Irish sports Hurling and Gaelic Football take up most of my time. It is great to play a sport unique to the Irish in Asia.
