Working for the Greater Good with Rosslyn Beattie

Meet Our Ex-Forces Consultant Rosslyn Beattie and read her fascinating history of service and life after leaving the forces.

A successful career within the Royal Corps of Signals

Rosslyn achieved the rank of Warrant Officer Class 1 whilst holding the appointment of Regimental Foreman of Signals (Senior Technical Advisor to the Commanding Officer). She delivered several communications engineering projects, from Northern Ireland to Iraq, and Afghanistan to the Balkans, supporting small to large multi-national headquarters. Throughout her service, Rosslyn mentored young soldiers and officers, assisting them with their career development.

Helping the wider community

Upon leaving the military, Rosslyn was eager to utilise her skill set in an organisation that worked for an admirable cause, whilst aiming to make a difference. From her research, she knew that one of the barriers to customers switching from fossil fuel to electric vehicles in Scotland was the accessibility of Electric Vehicle Charging Points.  This encouraged her to join a fledgling electric vehicle charge point installation company. In this role, she was able to help reduce the UK carbon footprint, positively contributing to the climate change emergency.

A fresh challenge with the FDM Ex-Forces Advanced Programme

During Rosslyn’s training, she was selected for the role of Cyber Security Project Manager with a global financial services organisation. Through her leadership and expertise, the team are better able to deliver on tasks with little error. Rosslyn is also a mentor to other young women, taking a keen interest in promoting STEM careers, whilst encouraging and developing gender diversity in the workplace.
