Careers for Veterans
Our Veterans Program is the next step for people who have served in the armed forces and are looking to transition into a successful civilian career in Tech or Business
FDM’s renowned Veterans Program bridges the gap between your military service and a corporate career. Designed for former military personnel from all ranks and services, we’ll make your transition as smooth as possible with expert training, ongoing support and hands-on experience with industry-leading clients.
What you’ll do
We know first-hand how much veterans have to offer the business world. Our program builds on your existing skills so you can make a difference to the world outside of the military. Once trained you will work on exciting projects that will have a real, positive impact, such as major transformation change programs in financial services.
Support and development
The FDM Veterans Program is run by veterans who understand your background and are committed to supporting your journey. We go above and beyond to support veterans across the board. We hold seven consecutive years as a ‘Military Times Best for Vets’ employer which reflects our ongoing advocacy and support of our veterans.
We know that your military background will have equipped you with a range of transferable skills and valuable life experiences.
Our clients are looking for talented individuals with the qualities you have developed within the military, from “soft” skills such as leadership, excellent teamwork, and risk and change management, as well as technical skills you may also have acquired.
It is our goal to help you translate your existing skills into a language the corporate world recognizes. This includes expert commercial training, gaining industry-recognized certifications to validate your existing skill set and showcase your talents, as well as professional skills that will prepare you for any civilian career path ahead of you.
What our consultants say
Amanda Scott
Service Desk Analyst
FDM has been supportive of my Army Reserves career, allowing me the time to complete my annual training. Having the support of FDM makes it easier to balance both civilian work life and my military work life. I enjoy the community feel that FDM has, it is almost like a family in the same way that you get in the military.
Patrick Hurley
Quality Assurance Tester
Before joining FDM, my technical experience from the Marines was not directly relating to any positions that came my way in the civilian world. FDM seemed to be the perfect fit for me, and I was confident they would provide me with the technical training I needed to be successful on-site.
Alex Rennie
Program Manager
FDM and the client have been amazing in supporting my reserve activity by providing 10 days of leave so that I can conduct my duties.

This stage will be comprised of a video interview and IT aptitude test. During the video interview, we will ask you a few questions to find out more about you and your career goals. This can be completed from your computer, tablet or mobile phone. You can find our top tips on how to ace this stage of the interview on our blog. Then, you will complete an IT aptitude test to assess your skill sets so we can make sure you are aligned to a role that matches your strengths.

Behavioral and technical interviews
At this stage, you will take part in two interviews. One will be conducted by one of our Account Managers and the other will be with one of our technical Trainers. They will focus on your ability to join the program rather than previous experience. This is also your opportunity to meet other veterans you could be training with and find out more about the program.
Our goal is to ensure happy and successful placements, which is why we have several support programs in place to do just that. From learning and development to engagement and networking to wellbeing programs, we’ll be with you every step of the way.
