On the 7th September, we celebrated the Veterans Awards, an annual event dedicated to recognising the achievements of our country’s veterans in business, fitness and the wider community.

What are the Veteran Awards?

Making the transition from military life to a civilian career is no easy feat, and the Veterans Awards seek to praise those who excel in their new endeavours and celebrate their successes, as well as show appreciation for the companies that support these brave individuals.

There are a number of award categories, encompassing a wide variety of achievements, including:

  • Role Model of the Year
  • The Community Award
  • Contribution to the English Fitness Industry and Society
  • The Health & Well-being Award
  • Entrepreneur of the Year
  • Inspiration of  the Year
  • Employer of the Year
  • Lifetime Achievement
  • Leavers to Leaders Award
  • Reservist of the Year Award
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Veterans Business of the Year Award

The Veterans Awards is a nonprofit organisation committed to giving back to the veteran community and donates its profits to grassroot charities for ex-forces.

FDM is a proud sponsor of the Lifetime Achievement category

FDM sponsors the Lifetime Achievement award category that looks at an individual’s military career, in addition to their contributions in business and community achievements post-military. This award category takes into account the applicant’s achievements during their military service and since leaving the forces, and is inclusive of veterans of all ranks and a wide range of careers.

The results are in…

We would like to congratulate this year’s winner and runner’s up for their achievements in the military and corporate world.

Winner  – Jack Hearn

Silver – John Scivier

Bronze – Derek Cole

This year, the English Veterans Awards saw a large number of applicants, which made the shortlisting process even more challenging for the judges. There was a fantastic selection of shortlisters, and all applicants should be proud of the incredible work they are doing, making a real impact and acting as a role model for many.

We are extremely honoured to be part of such an incredible event  along with other like-minded supporters, volunteers and sponsors, and we are looking forward to what’s to come next year!
