Janet Law, Senior Account Manager in our Hong Kong office has become 1 of 50 high potential young women to be paired with successful female leaders as part of The Women’s Foundation mentoring programme. The aim of this year-long programme is to help young women achieve their personal and professional objectives and create the leaders of the future.

Launched in 2009 The Women’s Foundation Mentoring programme is a unique programme in Hong Kong. The programme matches 50 high potential young women with mentors including some of Hong Kong’s most successful businesswomen and entrepreneurs from across a wide range of sectors. Mentees and mentors are paired by The Women’s Foundation based on participant’s interests, professional and life experience, motivations and affinities.

Now in its eighth year the mentoring programme gives participants access to one-on-one mentoring, peer-to-peer learning, mentoring circles, inspirational talks, panel discussions, skills-enhancement workshops and networking events.

Janet Law says: “I went through a rigorous process of meetings and interviews after the initial application screening. I feel privileged to be part of this mentoring programme which is run by one of the most respected organisations in Hong Kong.”

The ultimate goal of TWF mentoring programme is to increase the number of women in policy and decision-making roles across sectors. They say: “effective mentoring is critical to ensure women achieve their full potential”.

Law says, “My mentor is a Managing Director of an advertising company, which is completely different to FDM. I am able to learn from her success stories as well as her mistakes. It is inspiring to meet so many empowering women from different backgrounds who provide a strong, friendly network and support system. I look forward to working with my mentor and peers on my main objectives in the coming year.”

Following the year-long programme Janet will also be welcomed into the TWF’s Alumni Network which allows Mentoring programmes graduates to stay connected and develop an ever-growing network of mutually supportive women.

Congratulations to Janet for being selected into this programme and we look forward to hearing more about your mentoring journey.
