Frankfurt am Main is not only the largest city in Hessen and the fifth largest in Germany, it is also one of the most important international financial, industrial, service and exhibition centers. Shopping at Frankfurt’s Inner City
Walk from Konstablerwache to Hauptwache for the malls such as Zeil and MyZeil. If you’re looking for more upmarket and designer stores, Goethestraße is the place to be. Some typical sightseeing routes around here also include the Römer, crossing bridges like Deutschherrenbrücke or Eisernersteg to take pictures of the skyline during sunset, and walking by Willy-Brand-Platz to take selfies next to the big Euro sign.

Bahnhofsviertel
The station district is only half a square kilometre in size, but is a hub of multicultural and lively entertainment. The Bahnhofsviertel has become extremely popular over the last few years with tourists, and its streets are lined with stylish restaurants and bars. The area is a great place to go out with friends and discover what the city has to offer.

Frankfurt am MAIN
In summertime, the promenades and parks by the river provide the perfect area to relax. You can take a walk down the south side of the Main or rent a bike. There are also lounges and watering holes around the Main to enjoy balmy summer evenings with cold drinks.

Get up on the Main Tower
The Main Tower is a skyscraper in downtown Frankfurt am Main. At 200 meters, it is the fourth tallest skyscraper in Germany, providing great views of the city along with Tower 185.

Visit Alt-Sachenhausen and try Frankfurt’s traditional dishes
Alt-Sachsenhausen is an old neighborhood south of the river Main. It’s worth either a day or nighttime trip, with bars and eateries who serve Frankfurt’s traditional cider, called Apfelwein or Ebbelwoi, along with delicious and hearty food. You can also try some Grüne Soße, which is a cold yoghurt and herbs-based sauce usually served with eggs and potatoes. If you’re a cheese lover, this is the best place for you to try Frankfurt’s well-known delicacy called Handkäs with Musik.

Kleinmarkt-Halle
In the heart of the city is the Kleinmarkthalle, where Frankfurters come to shop for food. Expect to find everything from local sausages and bread to handmade ravioli, herbs, fruits and excellent sushi. Up on the balcony, the wine bar gets busy as a popular after-work spot.

Botanical Palmengarten
If you like flowers and gardens, then you’re going to love Frankfurt’s Palmengarten. This botanical garden is a great place to spend a summers’ day. In addition, there are always a few events during the year.

Nightlife
If you’re looking for more of a party atmosphere, the nightclub ‘Adlib’ is a great place for music. Set on three floors, the club is well known amongst both tourists and locals, and is especially popular due to its roof terrace and stunning views. If you want to get to know the typical Frankfurt nightlife, you should not miss a visit to Frankfurt’s Äbbelwoi pubs in Altsachs.
