What you’ll do on the Business Development Program
Our extensive training program will equip you with the skills and confidence you need for a real step-up in your career, covering both technical and commercial modules, as well as professional skills.
After completing the FDM Business Development Program foundational training, you will be offered two distinct routes. You can follow the Risk and Compliance pathway or the Business Consultant pathway, where you will train to enter a role as either an Entry-Level Project Manager or a Business Analyst.
Once trained, you will be placed on-site with one of our clients and get started as an Entry-Level Business Consultant on the exciting projects they have in store for you.
Business Development Program Career Paths
Business Analysis
Business Analysts are solution finders and problem solvers. Their role is to work with teams and departments across the business, gathering requirements and developing a deep understanding of an issue or opportunity. As an FDM Business Analyst, you will play an instrumental role at the heart of an organization, giving critical insight into the design, development and delivery of projects to drive improvements or growth.

Risk, Regulation and Compliance Analysts (RRC) are forecasters and navigators. Working mainly in the financial sector, they use their commercial knowledge and experience to identify potential risks, safeguard assets against threat and analyze an organization’s capacity for success within the industry. As an FDM RRC Analyst, you will play a strategic role predicting trends and future changes to ensure a business remains viable, profitable and safe.

Telephone interview
A member of the FDM recruitment team will call you to discuss the program and your career goals. This is also a great opportunity for you to ask us any questions you might have and get a feel for FDM. Check out our blog for top tips for a telephone interview
Online assessments
This stage will be comprised of a video interview and IT aptitude test. During the video interview, we will ask you a few questions to find out more about you and your career goals. This can be completed from your computer, tablet or mobile phone. You can find our top tips on how to ace this stage of the interview on our blog. Then, you will complete an IT aptitude test to assess your skill sets so we can make sure you are aligned to a role that matches your strengths.
Behavioural and technical interviews
At this stage, you will take part in two interviews. One will be conducted by one of our Account Managers and the other will be with one of our technical Trainers. They will focus on your ability to join the program rather than previous experience. This is also your opportunity to meet other candidates and find out more about the program.
