What you’ll do as a Cloud Computing Engineer at FDM

Throughout the FDM Cloud Computing Engineering training program, you will gain a variety of skills to prepare you for your new entry-level Cloud Computing job. This includes learning how to gather requirements for cloud-based environments, all the way through to implementation. You will also learn about the monitoring and decommissioning of cloud environments which are no longer required, as well as how to perform standard monitoring, disaster recovery and maintenance tasks.

In order to help you achieve all of this, you will receive training in GCP, Azure, AWS, Python, Terraform, Ansible and SQL. This will equip you with a versatile toolkit of software, languages and platform knowledge to carry with you throughout your professional career. 

After you have completed training, you will be deployed on client site and gain valuable hands-on experience in the field. This will see you applying your new-found expertise and working on a range of valuable projects to create new cloud environments which meet business requirements. 

FDM and AWS re/Start collaboration

FDM has teamed up with AWS re/Start to offer you a full-time skills development program to launch your career working in Cloud Computing Engineering. Upon completion of the AWS Cloud and IT Fundamentals online training and the achievement of an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Certification, you will become a fully-fledged FDM Consultant ready to work with one of our industry-leading clients as a Cloud Computing Engineer.

This stage will be comprised of a video interview and IT aptitude test. During the video interview, we will ask you a few questions to find out more about you and your career goals. Then, you will complete an IT aptitude test to assess your skill sets so we can make sure you are aligned to a role that matches your strengths.

Behavioral and technical interviews

At this stage, you will take part in two interviews. One will be conducted by one of our Account Managers and the other will be with one of our technical Trainers. They will focus on your ability to join the program rather than previous experience. This is also your opportunity to meet other candidates and find out more about the program.
