James Tuttiett – APAC Manager
Relocating to Hong Kong seven years ago as an Account Manager in a three-man team, James is responsible for overseeing the growth of FDM in the region. With Academies now in Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney, and most recently a new office in Shanghai, James says, “The most fulfilling aspect of my job is seeing the growth we have been able to go through, both from a personal and a physical point of view. Seeing the development in people has been really rewarding. FDM is a very trusting organisation and gives people the chance and opportunity to prove themselves.”
Fun fact: James has two different coloured eyes. One blue and one green.
Joe McLaren – Australia Team Lead
Joe first joined FDM as an intern in 2011 and since then has worked his way through different roles to his current area of sales and business development. Following two years in Hong Kong, he is now heading up the team in Australia. He say’s “I’m looking forward to developing FDM’s first office in the Southern Hemisphere and getting involved in all the outdoor activities Australia has to offer.”
Favourite hobby: Playing squash, most notably beating Charlie Drewett and James Tuttiett.
Aleksandra Zlatevska – Australia HR Manager
Aleks joined FDM in 2018 as our Australia HR Manager. Prior to joining FDM, she worked with IAG Insurance and Ferrier Hodgson in HR roles, and she has a detailed knowledge of Australian workplace legislation, culture and the talent market. Her mission is to attract the best talent to FDM and give all Australian employees an outstanding experience through their career. Aleks says, “It was the values and the focus on learning and development that attracted me to FDM the most.”
Fun fact: Aleks knows every Wiggles song off by heart!
Hannah Drewar – Australia Recruitment Lead
Hannah spent two years working as a Graduate Trainee in Higher Education whilst simultaneously completing an MSc in Management. It was through this Graduate Programme that she gained a passion for early careers. Hannah joined FDM in October 2015 as a Graduate Recruiter in Glasgow before she was promoted into the role of University Partnerships Team Lead. After launching the careers of more than 100 graduates and managing relationships with our universities in Scotland, she is now heading off down under to take on the role of Recruitment Lead for Australia. Hannah’s top tip for starting a career is “demonstrate a good attitude, the desire to work hard and everything else will follow.”
Fun Fact: Although Hannah loves to travel, she had never visited Australia before moving there. She just jumped on a plane and so far so good!
Billy McCarthy – Academy Team Lead
Billy has had a very varied career journey on the path to joining FDM. After graduating from university he became a self-employed stone mason and then worked for SEGA as a software tester before relocating to China to become an English teacher. After a short spell in China, Billy joined FDM Group in London on the software development stream. His joint enthusiasm for teaching and software development led him to apply for an internal role as a Java Trainer. To gain more experience as a software developer he went on-site as an FDM Consultant in Hong Kong, where he progressed to become a permanent staff member. After two years at the leading financial institution, Billy re-joined the FDM training team in Hong Kong as a Technical Trainer. In 2018, Billy relocated to spearhead our training offerings in Sydney, taking on the position of Academy Team Lead.
Favourite FDM memory: Watching Rod walk onto the stage as ACDC “Back in Black” played as the back drop music at his first summer party.
Alayna Mansell – Digital Marketing Specialist APAC
Having joined FDM in 2012, Alayna has experienced different areas of the business from recruitment to sales to marketing. In 2015, with the desire to work abroad and keen to expand her skillset, she took up an opportunity with one of FDM’s major financial clients in Hong Kong working in the Portfolio Management team of Group Operations IT. In 2017, Alayna re-joined the FDM marketing team as the Digital Marketing Specialist for APAC, responsible for developing and executing digital marketing strategies to raise brand awareness across Hong Kong, China, Singapore and Australia. Having spent the last three years in Hong Kong she is now re-locating to Sydney.
Fun fact: Alayna loves the outdoors and is a certified Ski Instructor and PADI Divermaster.
Joyce Lai – Account Manager
After graduating from the University of Hong Kong, Joyce worked at Cathay Pacific for a year and then in a private school as Head of Business Development, before joining FDM in 2015 where she worked as APAC Recruitment Consultant in London. “Joining FDM has been one of the best decisions in my life. FDM has a lot to offer as long as one keeps striving for their best.” Joyce relocated back to the Hong Kong centre to support Sales. In 2018, Joyce moved to Sydney with FDM to support both Sales and Recruitment. Of the opportunity, Joyce said, “I can’t wait to be part of the growth of FDM in Australia. Exciting times ahead!”
Fun fact: One of the activities on Joyce’s bucket list is wingsuit flying. Jumping out of a plane in a pink suit at 45,000 ft. is the ultimate excitement!
William Rayner – Account Manager
Growing up in rural Australia, William graduated from the University of Sydney and joined FDM in 2017. He was introduced to FDM whilst in Hong Kong in early 2017, where he met James and Joe and the opportunity presented itself to join the team. William has spent 12 months in the London headquarters, initially as a Graduate Recruiter and since moving into an Account Management role. He will join the FDM Hong Kong team before moving back to Australia where he will use his experiences in London and Hong Kong to help grow FDM Australia.
Favourite hobby: Rugby. It has taken Will around Australia and to Hong Kong. He’s also played whilst in London for the Richmond Club.
