I love being part of a large Product Team, composed of brilliant people all with differing skillsets, working towards a common goal. You are constantly exposed to different insights on how to solve problems and I am continually challenged to improve myself. FDM really gave me a fantastic opportunity to start a career in IT without having had an IT related degree and offered me exposure to some of the UK’s leading companies.

I’m currently working in Application Support with a leading client in the banking industry and my role involves monitoring applications and resolving tickets that come through. The coding skills that I learned at university have helped a lot in my job and made it a lot easier to approach a new programming language.

I enjoy the daily challenges and having to apply analytical thinking in order to solve problems. I also like customer interaction and the ability to work with diverse groups of customer stakeholders. In my role I’m also responsible for developing and managing the ‘Model Office’ as part of a team, aimed at working collaboratively with the wider college on hybrid working solutions to ensure user experience is greatly improved. This includes identifying gaps in processes, people and technology and then checking and validating new solutions functionality, performance, and quality.
