Make the most of your summer
There has never been a better time to get ahead of the crowd and start your professional career. FDM is a FTSE 250 company and one of the world’s leading employers in technology and business. Our 8-week paid internship programme will provide you with hands-on experience working in a global company, giving you the opportunity to make a real and valuable contribution to the business and help deliver on our goal of creating and inspiring exciting tech careers.
Adding value to the business
from day one
You will be tasked with a real business mandated project, as part of which you will need to collaborate with other interns to tackle challenges and solve problems, and deliver a final presentation to senior managers across the business. You will gain invaluable insights of what it’s like to work in an agile environment and will experience dealing with various stakeholders around the world while creating business value.
Summer 2021 Internship Projects
This summer we have two ongoing projects across the business (starting on 14th June) that you can get involved in.
Taking part in this project will see you working with different departments across the business to ‘gamify’ three of the streams on the FDM Graduate Programme and give fellow students an interactive and engaging way of finding out more about what those career paths are all about. You can apply for the different roles within the project via the links below.
The project involves working with departments across the business to produce an interactive software programme that would demonstrate in a fun and interactive way what coding and programming can achieve. This software programme delivered by this project is aimed at individuals who have little or no understanding of the field and intends to demonstrate that software development could also be a career path for people with no technical background.

What our interns say
University of Oxford Philosophy, Politics and Economics
“Since working at FDM, I have not only improved existing skills but also learnt new ones. I undertook the Excel and SQL training in the academy and learned skills that I used whilst working with the Sales Team. I have increased my business acumen and also had the opportunity to visit clients and sit in sales meetings with senior stakeholders, which allowed me to learn the intricacies of the business.”
Diversity and Inclusion Intern
University of Hertfordshire Business and Event Management
“The people that work here are what truly make FDM great. I’ve had the pleasure to be part of a supportive, hardworking team and I feel grateful to have gained so much knowledge and experience from this company during my placement as a Project Coordinator in the Diversity and Inclusion Team.”
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my internship at FDM and would encourage anyone currently at university to apply for this opportunity. All of the interns were tasked with designing an application that would in time be developed and benefit the employees and company globally. Knowing that we were trusted with a project of this calibre made the whole internship experience extremely beneficial and rewarding.”
During the video interview, we will ask you a few questions to find out more about you and your career goals. This can be completed from your computer, tablet or mobile phone. You can find our top tips on how to ace this stage of the interview on our blog.
Your assessment day will start with a brief introduction to the business, followed by one or two interviews with members of the department that you will be working in. Finally, you will be asked to complete a written or technical assessment linked to the role that you have applied to.
