Birmingham is one of the UK’s leading digital hubs and with heavy investment from both the public and private sector, it is one of the most exciting places to be in to kick start your career.

“The digital revolution has really taken hold of Birmingham,” comments Dave Harvey, Head of the Midlands for FDM. “We’ve been talking to businesses throughout the region who have ambitious plans and are looking for talented and driven people to help them achieve their goals.”

Our pop up training academy opened in Birmingham in December 2017 and our first cohort are just about to finish their training in the academy to become FDM consultants and work with our clients throughout the region.

Here’s what some of our trainees from the Birmingham Academy had to say about their journey so far:

“The breadth of topics I’m learning about is really engaging and the pace is just right for me. I’m looking forward to kick-starting my career as an FDM consultant. Looking back at what I’ve achieved so far is really encouraging, and I have great faith that FDM will help me to continue to develop for years to come!”

Shaun Harrison

“The training has been both challenging and interesting. Learning that I had been placed has been a major highlight for me; I’m happy to say I will be working with a company as an Automation Tester, and I cannot wait to get stuck in the environment and project side of the role as well as further developing my skills.”

Aaron Cleaver

“I am currently training with FDM to become a technical consultant, specialising in Robotics Process Automation. It’s been really enjoyable and we are in a great part of the city and are never short of things to do. I’m really looking forward to starting my career and applying my knowledge from training to real world situations.”

Michael Tubbs

“I graduated from Aberystwyth University with a Computer Science degree, and joined FDM on the technical stream with a specialism in Java Development. I’m really happy to have been placed after one interview in a job relevant to my degree. The training has really prepared me for my placement, it has been relaxed yet professional and in an environment that I really enjoy.”

Luke Hayward

The training is so refreshing; I am not only learning good technical practices but professional skills as well. I have been placed with an IT outsourcing company as a Robotics Process Automation Developer and am looking forward to having the opportunity to improve my personal skillset through collaboration with experienced individuals”

Prakash Wagela

Our next start dates for joining FDM in Birmingham are right around the corner in March and April 2018. If you are looking to kick start your career within the Midlands, email apply.birmingham@fdmgroup.com to find out more about the exciting opportunities available.
